What we do
TeleDr uses Skype, or 3G video phones so you can consult with your Doctor.
It will be similar to visiting the doctor, but the doctor will be in a different place
Your TeleDr can:
- Take a history and make a diagnosis
- Examine using the web camera or phone camera
- Order blood tests (fax or email form)
- Take Xrays (fax or email request)
- Write a medical certificate, workers compensation form, or a referral
- Prescribe medicine (fax the script to the nearest chemist or use drugs on site)
- Follow up the results and treatment at a later appointment
At the moment this service is provided through a nurse or paramedic at a remote site who can assist the doctor examine the patient.
TeleDr is starting with remote industrial sites, because:
- There are many employees there who do not have access to a doctor
- There is a nurse or paramedic there with equipment and medicine
- Workers compensation reimburses video consults, Medicare does not
- Industry needs this service
